80% subsidy for range of sustainable micro-credential courses

Irish construction professionals seeking to upskill in sustainability can avail of 80% grants – through short courses on a wide range of subjects linked to energy efficiency, the circular economy and digital skills for sustainable building.

A raft of courses run by the Digital Academy for the Sustainable Built Environment (DASBE) start in January 2025, offering micro-credentials on subjects as varied as strategies for decarbonising building, green public procurement for construction, heat pump installation, commissioning and servicing skills and whole life carbon assessment.

The industry-aligned courses are designed specifically for construction professionals, with DASBE-funded micro-credentials at Technological University of the Shannon and Atlantic Technological University.

Eligible learners can receive an 80% fee subsidy, making it easier than ever to gain valuable, accredited skills.

Starting in January 2025, these short, fully accredited courses are delivered online, providing practical expertise to keep you competitive in today’s evolving industry.

DASBE is a partnership between two recently formed higher education institutes, the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and Atlantic Technological University (ATU), along with industry partners the Irish Green Building Council and Tipperary Energy Agency.

DASBE is funded by the Higher Education Authority's HCI Pillar 3, a government programme designed to meet priority skills needs, by increasing collaboration between higher education and enterprise with a focus on innovations in teaching and learning.
