The new systems achieve a seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) of up to 6.22, representing NIBE’s most energy-efficient technology to date. The enhanced efficiency translates to significant reductions in running costs for homeowners and businesses adopting the technology.

A key innovation in the S1256 model is its use of R454B refrigerant, which substantially reduces environmental impact compared to previous generations. The system can deliver up to 300 litres of hot water without requiring an immersion heater, whilst integrated inverter control automatically adjusts output to match demand.

Both models feature intuitive touchscreen interfaces and wireless connectivity, enabling integration with smart home systems. The heat pumps are designed for installation in both new-build properties and renovation projects.

Unipipe IRL Ltd, NIBE’s official Irish partner, provides comprehensive support including technical design, installer training, commissioning and maintenance services. The company also assists customers with applications for grants available through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

Beyond heat pumps, Unipipe supplies advanced surface heating and cooling systems that operate through walls and ceilings, offering year-round climate control for various building types.

The launch comes as Ireland accelerates its transition to renewable heating technologies to meet climate targets. Ground source heat pumps extract thermal energy from the earth, providing an alternative to fossil fuel heating systems whilst reducing carbon emissions.

Unipipe managing director Paul O’Donnell emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting Ireland’s renewable energy transition through proven technology backed by decades of experience in the sustainable heating sector.
