Places still available for second Better Building conference

The second Better Building conference will be held on 24 April in the Croke Park conference centre, Dublin. The inaugural conference at Royal Hospital Kilmainham last year sold out with nearly 400 attendees.

Marie Donnelly, director for renewable energy, energy efficiency and innovation at the Directorate General for Energy in the European Commission has recently been added to the list of speakers.

"Better Building has become the must attend event in the calendar for anyone involved in the property or construction sector," said Irish Green Building Council director Pat Barry.

The theme of this year's conference is 'leading environmental innovation in Europe'. Delegates can tailor their conference from a number of simultaneous streams.

"The vast range of sessions with outstanding speakers makes the conference unmissable, whether you are a property investor or a passive house designer," said Barry.

He added that the event aims to "showcase some of the world class research taking place in Irish universities and research centres, particularly where it involves partnership with indigenous Irish companies" as well as "outstanding deep retrofit case studies".

Better Building is organised by the Irish Green Building Council, Cultivate and the Sustainable Building Show, in partnership with Enterprise Ireland and in association with Ecocem, the low carbon cement supplier.
