The partnership between EVHACS and Mitsubishi Electric combines heating, cooling and EV charging functions into a single unit, requiring only one installation and electrical connection. The system is designed to address infrastructure challenges faced by homeowners and businesses adopting both heat pumps and electric vehicles.

“This partnership marks a major leap forward in sustainable building technology,” said Ciaran Moody, president of Mitsubishi Electric Ireland.

“We are proud that our Irish team is at the forefront of this innovation – pioneering the future of smart, connected homes and businesses by combining two critical technologies into one intelligent system.”

The integrated system uses EVHACS’ proprietary technology alongside Mitsubishi Electric’s heat pump and air conditioning units.

According to the companies, the system can dynamically balance electrical loads between heating, cooling and EV charging functions to prevent overloads and avoid costly grid upgrades.

Jeff Aherne, chief executive of EVHACS, said the partnership aimed to make clean energy technologies more accessible: “Our mission has always been to make clean energy technologies more accessible and practical. With Mitsubishi Electric, we’re making it easier than ever for people to decarbonise their homes, retail or commercial buildings, and vehicles – all in one step.”

The companies say the integrated approach offers several advantages over separate installations, including reduced installation complexity, lower total system costs and space efficiency.

The system includes intelligent controls that allow users to manage heating, cooling and EV charging from a single interface. Dynamic load balancing is presented as one of the system’s key features, with the companies claiming it ensures the system never draws more power than available supply can handle. This capability is designed to support demand-side management and future smart grid applications.

The integrated unit carries EVHACS branding and warranty while using Mitsubishi Electric’s heat pump technology. The system supports AC charging and is designed to work within home energy management systems. EVHACS, founded in Dublin, has developed patented EV charging technology that the company says can be integrated into existing infrastructure. The partnership with Mitsubishi Electric represents a significant expansion of the company’s reach into the heating and cooling market.

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation’s Irish operations have been based in Dublin since 1981 and with a focus primarily on HVAC systems, IT cooling solutions and automation across residential, commercial and industrial sectors. The launch comes as Ireland pursues its transition to renewable energy and electric vehicle adoption continues to grow. Heat pump installations have increased as homeowners seek alternatives to fossil fuel heating systems, as well as making both heat pump and EV technology more accessible to homeowners in older properties who might otherwise face prohibitive installation costs.

The combined units are now available across Ireland from evhacs.com.
