SEAI Energy Show to take place on 6 & 7 April
This annual two-day business event, which last year saw up to 200 companies exhibit their energy saving products and services, is the premier business energy exhibition in Ireland, and a must for those interested in energy management and innovations in sustainable energy solutions.
The event centres around the exhibition, where visitors can see everything from building energy management systems for large premises, to time and temperature controls for smaller operations, to heat recovery systems, high efficiency boilers and much more in-between.
There are also lots of additional events and features to experience at the show including an electric vehicle pavilion with free test drives of the latest models, best practice retrofit demonstration areas, networking opportunities with international markets, and a wide range of workshops and briefing events.
The SEAI Energy Theatre, introduced to last year’s show with free talks updating attendees on the latest policy and market developments in energy efficiency and renewable energy, will also return. Sessions include briefings on the latest in energy efficient design for buildings, systems and processes; renewable energy solutions for large businesses; energy project financing options through energy performance contracts; Ireland’s energy trends looking at where our energy comes from and how it’s used; the development of Ireland’s emerging ocean energy sector, and Ireland’s energy efficiency opportunity in meeting our 2020 EU targets.
Of particular interest to built environment professionals is the briefing session on SR54, the new code of practice for the energy efficient retrofit of dwellings. The key areas of the guidelines will be discussed through the use of some practical case studies from Ireland and abroad.
Another session of interest is the briefing on the energy efficient design scheme being developed by SEAI, using the principles embedded in the IS 399 design management standard. Attendees at this session will learn more about this programme and how to optimise for excellence in energy efficient design in buildings, systems and processes.
